The Lagos state police command said a 39-year-old man identified as Chris Ndukwe has allegedly killed his girlfriend, a 25-year-old Olamide Alli whose residence is located at ogba but was found dead in Chris Ndukwe's residence located at No 5, house 16a, victory point estate, ilasan.
A statement from Lagos State Police Relation officer, Dsp Bala Elkana said it was after receiving information regarding the development that a team of homicide detectives was deployed to the scene as the crime scene was preserved for forensic analysis.
Elkana said the woman was found lying in the pool of her blood with a deep cut on her head, while her boyfriend identified as Chris Ndukwe (deceased), had his mouth foaming with whitish substance.
“It was alleged that Chris Ndukwe stabbed his girlfriend identified as olamide Alli with a knife and thereafter drank some poisonous substance suspected to be a sniper insecticides”.
He said two blood-stained kitchen knives, two empty bottles of the poisonous substances, three empty cans of red bull energy drink and a plier were recovered from the scene.
“The two corpses were removed and deposited in a public mortuary for autopsy”.
The spokesman stated “ information gathered from some family members revealed that the couple were in a relationship for over seven years, though not married, have two boys with ages of between seven and three as the relationship is described as complicated as the couples were said to be on and off over the years.
The woman is said to have visited the man alongside her 22-year-old sister, a night before the incident on Chris Ndukwe's invitation.
Elkana said her sister was the first to have noticed that the couples were dead and raised alarm as she said in her statement that she woke-up by loud music from the room where the corpses were found dead as herself and the kids slept in a different room.
He said it is not yet clear what might trigger the murder.
