Two Fake Soldiers Nabbed Over Murder of Police Sgt @ilemba: Olusegun Ariyo




Operatives of Lagos state police command specifically detectives from ilemba Hausa Police Division in a settlement in Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos state have arrested one Kehinde Elijah, a 45-year-old residence of Ibiyeye Street within Whitehouse bus-stop at okokomaiko.
A statement coming from the Lagos State Police Public Relation officer, Dsp Bala Elkana said the suspect has been on the wanted list of the police as a result of  their  fervent engagements in violent crimes.


Elkana said four pairs of military fatigues were recovered in his house, adding that the suspect claim to have disserted the military in 2015 when deployed to the northeast to fight insurgency.
The suspect has been in Ojo area since then, where has been terrorising members of the public as the second suspect identified as Ezeh Frank Joseph was equally arrested  in his apartment at imude Pako Area, along Era road within Ajangbadi.
The spokesman said the second suspects equally claimed to have disserted the military training adding that both suspects were arrested in respect of the shooting and killing of a police sergeant onalaja onajide attached to ilemba Hausa police division.
He said the shooting incident that took the life the policeman happened on 10-05-2020 when unknown gunmen fired a gunshot at the division police officer, ilemba and its station guard while the Divisional police officer survived the gunshot, sergeant onajide did not make it as  a result of those pallet of bullets wounds.
Elkana said an investigation led to the arrest of  the duo, adding that  the first suspects were earlier at the station to solicit the release of his motorcycle which was impounded by the police for violating the ban on the use of motorcycles, not happy with the Divisional police officer’s refusal to release the motorcycle to him, he decided to launch the deadly attack.
“Investigation is ongoing as suspects will be charged to court, the statement read!
Meanwhile, command also arrested a fifty-year-old man for raping and defiling his daughter for eight years at ikotun.
The statement put further the fifty-year-old whose residence is located at Kajola Street within ikotun axis is committing incent with their 19-year old daughter which as justification, prompted one 45-year-old woman to report the matter at ikotun police station.
Trouble start when the woman noticed some strange behaviours from her daughter and decided to find out why the sudden disrespect towards her father
Elkana said the survival opened up to her mother that her father started having sexual intercourse with her when she was eleven-year-old.
He said he often threatens violence whenever she resists him adding that the father instilled so much fear in her that she finds it difficult to report to anybody as the suspect was arrested by detectives from the family support unit
Elkana said suspect has confessed to the commission of the crime after thorough investigation into the case  as suspects was  on 11th, 5, 2020 charged to chief magistrate  court on five count charges of incenting, rape, sexual harassment, defilement and sexual assault adding that the suspect was remanded in police custody while the case is adjourned to 15-06-2020 for further hearing.
