Court Slams Funke Akindele, Husband 14Days Community Service, N100, 000 Fine: Olusegun Ariyo

A magistrate court sitting  at Ikeja, specifically in Ogba has slammed popular Nollywood  actress Funke Akindele Bello her husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello a fourteen days of community service  with three hours per day, to visit (10) ten important public places  within Lagos state, to educate the public on the consequences of non-compliance with a restriction order and 14 days of community service.

The popular actress and her husband was slammed with one (1) count charged after a viral video showing them having a birthday party with more than  twenty persons contrary to the social distancing directives of Lagos state  made in pursuant to regulation 8 (1) (a) & (b) and 17 (1) (i)  of the Lagos state infectious Disease  (Emergency prevention)regulation 2020  and are  hereby  committed an offence punishable  under section 58 public health law cap p16 vol 9 of Lagos state 2015.

They were brought to court by detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department led by the Deputy Commissioner of police Dcp Yetunde Longe, while the prosecuting team was led the Attorney General of Lagos, Moyosore Onigbanjo, SAN.

The charge was read to the accused persons and was later  pleaded guilty, while the court found them guilty and slam them hundred thousand naira (N100,000) fine, 14 days community service.

The Lagos state police public relation officer, Dsp Bala Elkana said in a statement that the two accused held a party  at their residents with over twenty-person contrary to social distance directives.

Elkana said Azeez Fashola AKA Naira Marley is now in its custody, adding that he will also be charged to court for violating the restriction orders.

“The command has launched a manhunt for the remaining persons who attended the party, while the commissioner of police, Lagos state police command, cp Hakeem Odumosu express profound gratitude to Lagos residence and other well-meaning Nigerians that speak up against the violation”
