Given the mysterious circumstance olatunde Anthony Oluwafemi, a 29-year-old resident of 27 owode street Alapere in Ketu was declared missing, the Lagos state police command said it is set to prosecute a pastor identified as ejiro ologonla who was said to be in connection with the victim's disappearance.
In a statement made Available to Urban Express News-online through the Lagos State Police Public Relation Officer, Dsp Bala Elkana said; police received a complaints at about 14000hrs specifically on 20-12-2019 saying after one olatunde Anthony Oluwafemi was sent on an errand to ilupeju, his whereabouts have remained unknown.
This was how the police forensic expert successfully analyzes the itel phone of the missing person, leading to the arrest of the user identified as Monserrat Gbadegesin.
Elkana said in her statement, the (suspect) Monsurat Gbadegesin said her fiancée known as Abiodun Abiola gave her the phone, adding that during questioning, Abiodun said one Tolu Olurotimi sold the phone to him.
On Tolu Rotimi’s part, he said he bought the phone from pastor ejiro ologonla, a 45-year-old celestial church pastor from delta state.
The spokesman said after questioning pastor ejido ologonla, he said he was at oniru beach for spiritual cleansing on that faithful day when he meets the missing olatunde Anthony Oluwafemi.
“While he was at the beach, the missing person appeared drunk, came in and started chasing people around”
“At a point, I saw him climbing a fisherman’s boat, later, the pastor claimed Anthony Oluwafemi pulling his clothes, shoes, and dropped his phones and jumped into the sea”.
"The pastor also claimed he informed the security men on guard duty at the beach and also called a police officer as well as one princess Arike Oniru on phone to intimate them of the incidents.
He added “I finally picked up the victims clothes, shoes and phone and sold the phone to one Tolu Olurotimi for one thousand, five hundred Naira”.
Elkana said the princess and other witness mentioned were invited for questioning adding that the fisherman stated that on that faithful day, the missing person came to the beach behaving as if he was drunk and that as he paddles the canoe to the sea, he was alerted that the man was hanging on the canoe as he brought him back and promise to give him fish when he's back the following day, and after all said, "I never set my eyes on the man again", the canoe paddler claims!
“The princess confirm that the pastor called her to inform her that somebody jumped into the sea and she advised him to report the incident to the nearest police station”
“The security guards on duty at the beach denied receiving a report of somebody jumping into the sea, adding that the clothes and shoes of the missing person were found in possession of the pastor”
Elkana said it was established that the missing person was actually at oniru beach before his disappearance; adding that the pastor was the last person that had contact with the missing person
He said it is not yet established whether the missing person is dead or still alive but the circumstantial evidence gathered so far are pointing strongly towards the said pastor.
Elkana said the pastor did not just sell the phone belonging to the missing person, he also converted money found in the trouser of the missing person to his own.
"There is no record showing that the pastor reported the incident to any police station".
"The commissioner of police, Lagos state, CP Hakeem Odumosu has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the state criminal investigation department (CID), yaba for further investigation and diligent persecution"
