Police Neutralize Ansaru Terror Forest In Birnin Gwari Recover Arms, Kill Wanted Terrorists

A Location with few kilometres to the heart of Kaduna where kidnappers are said to be having a field day coming with reported stories of how the emir  vacated his seat and scamper for the safety of his life has now been neutralized by police counter terrorism operation yesterday.

A statement made available to Urban Express-News Online through the force public relation officer, Dcp Frank Mba said the neutralization saw three terrorists arrested, a cache of arms and ammunition recovered

The Ansaru Terrorist Group and bandits had been terrorising Kaduna suburb, killing especially inhabitants of Birnin gwari, kidnapping people moving from origin to destination within the said metropolis.

The police counter-terrorism operation has however neutralize the terrorist base known as Ansaru Terrorist group and bandits and also killed one Haruna Basullube and Bashir Leta who accordingly is the most wanted kidnapper and cattle rustler in the country.

Mba said One Mallam Abba, commander of Boko Haram camp in Kaduru forest and one Mofa, a notorious Kidnapper was critically injured

“Mop-up operation continues as the IGP  has deployed crack detectives and special forensic investigators from the force headquarters to expedite the investigation into board criminal enterprise of the group and their associates”

"In spite of the successes of the operation, one Inspector Muhammed Abubakar attached to the Police Special Forces regrettably died as a result of injuries sustained in the heat of the combat. Thirteen other officers (made up of 2 SPs, 1 DSP, 4 Inspectors and 6 Sergeants) including the Pilot and Co-pilot of the Police helicopter, sustained different degrees of injuries and are currently receiving treatment”.

“The late Inspector Muhammed Abubakar was one of the finest officers of the Police Special Forces with vast training and operational background, both at home and abroad”.

“While condoling with the family, friends, and professional colleagues of the late officer, the IGP restates the commitment of the Force to the safety of its personnel and the nation”.

Item recovered  include 11 AK47 rifles, 730 rounds of life AK47 ammunition, 152 rounds of GPMG ammunition in two chains, 13 pairs of military camouflage uniforms, 2 cartons and 48 sachets of tramadol, four facemasks, phones and other electronic gadgets.
