Untold Story of how Trigger-happy Civil Defence Cop is Rescued after Allegedly Shooting Keke rider @ Ikeja: Olaleye Idowu

A location specifically within clay bus-stop along Kudirat Abiola way in Ikeja was brought into abruption after it was alleged that a trigger happy civil defence cop was alleged to have shot a Keke Driver identified as Michael David after having mild disagreement which eyewitness said aggravated anger in between them leading to shooting the said Keke rider.

“At first, it was a smooth flow of traffic along clay bus-stop along Kudirat Abiola way, specifically by classic event centre when all of a sudden, I had a strong sound of the gun shoot, and before you know it, there was a heavy presence of Keke drivers and bystanders crowded at a particular spot”.

This was the submission of an eyewitness who simply gave her name as Bisola.

It was discovered that the gunshot fired eventually struck one of those metropolitan transports riders known as Keke Marwa that ply’s that route.

Prodding further, another eyewitness told our correspondent that there was a mistaken identity of the particular security agency that actually pulled the trigger given the presence of police and civil defence corps, immediately it was discovered to be  one of the men of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) that actually  pulled the trigger, the angry mob moved swiftly towards their location and  set ablaze  their vehicle’’, an eyewitness said.

 Not done with it, the angry mob equally moved against the three members of the NSCDC operatives whose names are identified as shittu Eniola, Achibue Kingsley and Archibong Anieffiong and was later rescued by operatives of the police mobile team led by the CSP Mosses Adeduro after a distress call was placed.

A source in the police circle told our correspondent that  operatives attached to an organisation with a proximal advantage where the incident occurred were actually, those that rescued the three NSCDC officials from mob action, ''even though one of them still sustained some degree of injury'', this, he said was before the three of those Civil Defense officials was about to secure refuge in that said  organisation known as Beloxxi  where there was the presence of static police officers that were able to move against those angry mobs and call for reinforcements  ”.

“We had to place a distress call to our Oga, Csp Mosses Adeduro for reinforcement and immediately we had operatives from base 65, Area 'F' command and that which we were able to avert the situation”.

He said three riffles, two magazines with five rounds of ammunition was equally recovered from the officials of National Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC).

The 28-year-old Keke rider identified as Michael David is said to recuperating at the accident and emergency centre in an undisclosed hospital.   

Urban express news online gathered that the other two officers of the civil defence cops are still with the police while  Archibong Aneffong who was  said to be seriously injured is still on admission at one of the police hospital in Lagos.  

Meanwhile, when a call was put through to the Lagos state public Relation officer of the state chapter of National Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kehinde Bada to ask about the developments, she responded “a case that is about two months past? Who told you about it, she asks our correspondent, and thereafter, she dropped the call, attempt to call her again was rebuffed.
