The Annual rope skipping championship has been slated to take place in Ondo state
A statement from the Secretary-General of the Nigeria rope skipping federation, Mr Sesan Olukoya said the event is slated to take place at the indoor sports Hall, in Akure, specifically in Ondo state from 17th to 19th 2020.
Olukoya said this year championship is tagged “Dawn of jump Rope in Nigeria” he added, in preparation, for the timely championship, some officials and athletes of the federation were camped at the osubi at the airport playing ground, Warri, Delta state from 5th to 10th December 2019 as the main partakers of the camp were Lagos and Delta states based team members who were chosen as the two pilot states that have long been engaging in the process of rope keeping as part of sporting activities.
“We expect that the timely camping will expose them to a new technicality of officiating the game in line with the world body rules and regulation and also on the new routines that were practised which they have mastered”
He said states that was set to participate in the National Championship in Lagos, Delta, Ogun, Oyo, Kwara, Edo, Osun, Rivers Plateau, Bayelsa and Imo.
Athletes and officials are expected to converge at Akure on Friday 17th January 2020, while the event proper will hold on the second specifically on 17th January 20-20 while the event proper will hold the second day of Saturday 18th of January and later hold its Annual General Meeting at that same venue.
He said participants are expected to depart on Sunday 19th 2020
