For any community to have a sustainable source guaranteeing lives and properties must certainly need the presence of security operatives to protect the people and its habitats.

This is especially so when Lagos state governor, Mr Babajide sanwo-olu commissions a new edifies for Lagos state Police Area command for coastal zones in Lagos identified as Area “L” with well-furnished office apartments, open space, with nature made aquatic splendour for officers and men of the Area command with a view of providing adequate security for the inhabitants living in Lagos coastal zones which consist of ilashe, igbologun, Takwa-bay, Osolu, ilado and ibeshe and other adjoining settlements that make up the zones within its corridor.
The Governor, in his remarks, pointed out that security of lives and property remains part of the six pillars of his administration.
He thanked IGP Adamu Mohammed for the creation of more Area commands in the state.
His word: “As it stands, we are having eighteen Area command in Lagos state presently.
“Let me call on all officers posted here to be dedicated and conduct themselves diligently”.
“He said his administration will need the corporation of traditional rulers, says ‘his government is seriously considering making those coastal locations a tourism hub that will boost the potential of the communities which he says must need the corporation of the custodian of those communities.
Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu jokingly said he and his cabinet is considering using the hall for one of its executive meetings as the multipurpose hall looks good and well furnished.
Continuing, Babajide sanwo-olu while commending the Attorney General of the state Mr Moyo Onigbanjo for a deserving supervisory role during the construction of the building, he pledged that the state government will be signing a two-year maintenance agreement with the construction firm in other for sustainability.
While presenting a plaque of appreciation to Mr Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Assistant Inspector-General of police in charge of zone Two, AIG illyasu Mohammed describes him as digital Governor and Mr. “talk and do”.
"Thank you “Mr Governor,” for this newly built Area Command, as we at the zone promise to ensure a better working environment that will leave up to expectation; 'adding that the Igp’s community policing policy shall be sustained within those coastal communities".
The state commissioner of police, Hakeem Odumosu, on its part, appreciate “Mr Governor” Babajide sanwo-olu with a promise to continue with the commitment of ensuring security of lives and property within the state.
Odumosu said its dream of repositioning Lagos as one of the most secured megacities in the world is not wavering, given his concept of preparedness that he had adopted since assumption of office.
“The entire command appreciate Mr Governor for the support being received so far, as we assure residence of Lagos state once again of sustaining the onslaught against criminals and criminalities in all part of the state and it's coastal communities”
Odumosu promise “Mr Governor” that the newly built Area command will work in tandem with community and visibility policing thrust of the current inspector general of police, igp Mohammed Adamu.
“like Oliver twist, we humbly request that “Mr Governor” help see to the accommodation challenges that some of our officers posted to that coastal zones are facing, which at present, is hampering their operational efficiency”,
In his closing remark, the Area Commander of the coastal communities of Area “L”, police command, Acp Ben Osuji promised to sustain the confidence reposed on them coming from the inspector general of police, as he thanked “Mr Governor” for the great gesture.
Dignitaries that grace the occasion include Traditional Rulers, Deputy Governor Mr. Obafemi Hamzat, secretary to the state government Mrs Folashade Jaji, Deputy commissioner of police in charge of operations Mohammed Ali, 9 Army Brigade commander, Brigadier Gen. Ndagi, Area “P” Commander Acp Adepoju, and Area “H” Commander Acp Dantawaye Miller.
