Operatives of the Lagos state police command has arrested two men known as ikechukwu (45) and Emeka Ewuzien (45) after disguising as operatives of state Anti-robbery squad, claiming they were on their way to effect an arrest at Bakare street along Daudu market within Ifako-Ijaye metropolis.
Luck however, ran out of them when operatives from Ifako-Ijaye led by the Divisional police officer, CSP Lasisi iyunade accosted the two men dressed in black T-shirt with SARS inscription.
Explaining further in a statement, the Lagos state police public relation officer, Dsp Bala Elkana said the two men claimed to be operatives of the State Anti Robbery squad (SARS) members, and that they were on their way to effect an arrest.
"On further questioning, they claimed to be members of the Police Community Relation Committee (PCRC) from Victoria Island in Lagos".
The spokesman said two fake PCRC identity cards bearing same name were eventually recovered, adding that the suspects have been charged to court and has been remanded in kirikiri correctional home.
Meanwhile, a five-year-old infant girl was said to have been defiled by a 35-year-old man with name Bunmi Adeyemi who resides at 8 Alhaji Alake Street in Bariga and was arrested by a team of detectives from the family support units of the command.
The statement put further that the suspect, Bunmi Adeyemi had confessed to the commission of the crime.
Elkana said victim was taken to Mirabel Centre with a location at Ikeja for medical treatment and forensic examination.
He said the command gender unit has taken over the investigation adding that the suspect will be charged to court.
