The Lagos state police command said it has apprehended a robber operating in military camouflage in festival town popularly known as festac.
A statement from the Lagos state police public relation officer Dsp Bala Elkana said Police Division in festac town received a distress call from a filling station specifically at a rainbow junction that an armed robber was sighted along the area, and thereafter, the police anti-robbery team was drafted to the said location.
Elkana said this was how a 30-year-old suspect known as chizoba Okeke was arrested.
Item recovered include two phones, one sword, housebreaking implements, two daggers, a POS machine and ATM card.
Elkana said investigation is ongoing to ascertain where and how he got military uniform he operates with and also identifies other members of his gang.
He said they are yet to establish whether he belongs the gang of dismissed soldiers arrested some weeks back.
The police spokesman said the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
Meanwhile operatives in Bariga have saved two Nigerians from gas poisoning.
The statement put further that team of police at Bariga Division while on patrol along Shobande Street Akoka noticed a black Hyundai vehicle parked along the road with two occupants identified as Abiodun Balogun (32) and Odisha Ginika (21) laying down unconsciously on a driver and passenger seats.
Elkana said this was how they were rushed to the hospital for medical attention while the vehicle was removed from the scene for inspection.
He said were eventually resuscitated by the medical team on duty and later discharged from the hospital.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the lady was his passenger and that they became unconscious as a result of the poisoning chemical substance they inhaled due to leakage from the air condition, he added.
