A 25-year-old man was said to have taken a poisonous substance known as a sniper, killing self after his girlfriend decided to quit their relationship.
A statement from the Lagos State Police Public Relation officer Dsp Bala Elkana said; Police Division in Surulere receive a piece of information that one Kehinde muse, a 25-year-old resident of 56 Modele Street in Surulere locked himself in his room and drank a poisonous substance known as a sniper.
He said the deceased was rushed to the hospital but died on arrival.
Elkana said a preliminary investigation revealed that the diseased person earlier sent a suicide text message to his ex-girlfriend, Rasheedat Damilola Animashaun (21) informing her that he will take his life since she decided to quit their relationship.
“That the said girlfriend promptly informed his family about the text message he sent to her and they rushed to his house, broke the door and found him unconscious”.
The spokesman said he was immediately rushed to the hospital but unable to make it alive.
He said his corpse has been deposited in the mortuary for autopsy.
Also operatives of the Lagos state police command said it recovered one Honda city saloon car with Registration number KRD-755 belonging to manchatile limited after launching a search for the stolen vehicle.
The statement put further that the chief security officer of the said company, Mercantile Company Limited reported at Mushin Police Division that the car was removed from the park.
On the strength of the report, operatives launched a search for the stolen vehicle.
Elkana said the said vehicle was eventually recovered along western avenue area of Surulere.
One Ebosie ugochukwu was arrested while negotiating to sell the car at the rate of four hundred thousand.
He said the suspects have confessed to the commission of the crime adding that he will be charged to court
