Operatives of Lagos state police command known as “operation crush” have arrested nine cultists at Imota, an outskirt of ikorodu metropolis after receiving credible intelligence.
A statement from the Lagos state police public relation officer, Dsp Bala Elkana said; after relying on the intelligence that some cultists on the police wanted list were sighted in igbalu community, operatives of operation crush attached to the Division were promptly deployed.
He said two suspects with name Emmanuel chinonso (21)and Thomas Israel (20) was arrested.
Item recovered include two Axe, knife and one beret belonging to Eiye confraternity.
Elkana said the suspects had confessed to be key leaders of Eiye confraternity and that their gang is responsible for a series of violent attacks recorded at Imota.
In a follow-up investigation, seven additional suspects were arrested, elkana added.
He said the suspects include Ariyo Omonuga (25),Oyerinde Omoniyi (23), Adelaja Opeyemi (28), Hassan Babatunde(26), Sadiq Oladire (22), and sikiru liasu (18).

In a similar vein, operatives also arrested two robbery suspects in Bariga.
The statement put further that at about 11:55 hours, operatives were able to arrest one Francis Ayekomologbon with a resident at Olatunji street in Bariga along Abeokuta street within Bariga metropolis for robbing one Damilare Ismaila with resident jebba street Bariga of his Samsung phone.
One Daniel okorie was also arrested at Olarewaju Street Akoka for attempting to steal one paragon white bus parked in the house by one Tolu Onyenusi.
Elkana said the suspect had confessed to the commission of the crimes
He said investigation is on-going and those suspects will be charged to court.
