The Lagos state police command has arrested three suspects over cases of child defilement and rape in various locations within Lagos metropolis.
In a statement made available to urban express news online through the Lagos state police public relation officer, Dsp Bala Elkana said; one fatai Nafiu with a resident at Adetoke street, Bariga was reported to have forcefully had unlawful sexual intercourse with a 15 year-old (Name-withheld) after which team of detectives at the family support unit of the command got the suspect arrested.
Elkana said the suspect had confessed to the commission of the crime adding that the victim was taken to the hospital for medical treatment and forensic examination.
Also, a 34-year-old man was said to have allegedly defiled a victim in Bariga with location along its market square.
The victim was said to be a 15-year-old girl.
The statement put further that the suspect, Taiwo sheuases was arrested by detectives from the family support unit and has equally confessed to the crime.
Elkana said the victim has been taken to the hospital for medical examination.
In a similar vein, a 50-year-old Issac ubogu with a resident at 31 Awoniyi Elemo Street with a location at Ajao estate was said to have allegedly defiled a 3-year-old girl
The spokesman said the suspect was arrested and had confessed to the commission of the crime, adding that all suspects will be charged to court.
Meanwhile a team of operatives at ilemba Hausa police station with a location at Ojo local government also arrested one wasiu kamarudeen.
Continuing, elkana said ilemba Police Division received a distress call from St Patrick catholic renewal church with location at jakande open field that one motorcycle was sighted conveying three passengers mingled amongst the worshipers who were attending three days retreat with intent dispossess worshipers of their valuables.
on the strength of the information, patrol teams were deployed to the scene.
The spokesman said this was how the ring leader, a 19-year-old wasiu kamarudeen with a resident at 8 Olaniyi street iyalode, illogbo, was arrested with one locally made short Gun and live cartridge.
Elkana said their operational motorcycle with registration number OGUN-AKM 749 WP was equally recovered.
He said command’s Special Anti Robbery squad (SARS) has launched a manhunt for the remaining two suspects, "adding that investigation is on-going, and that the case will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.
