Lagos state police command has apprehended one Tajudeen Atanda and Rasheed Kehinde suspected to be hemp merchant in possession of seven bags loaded with bad substance.
These it said happened through its continuous efforts to rid the state of illicit drug and banned substances, as men of the command attached to Maroko police division made a successful arrest of two individuals in possession of a substance suspected to be cannabis
In a statement, the police public relation officer Csp Chike Oti said at about 1200hrs, while on routine, Anti-crime patrol team intercepted a volks wagon gulf saloon car, with Reg number KJA377EY.
The statement put further that when the car was searched, seven bags of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp carefully hidden to avoid being seized by security operatives were recovered from the two occupants, one of which is sixty years old Tajudeen Atanda and Rasheed Kehinde 31years.
Oti told Urban express news Correspondent that the two suspects were arrested at Ghetto waterside along Lekki Phase one and that they are currently undergoing interrogation at Maroko police station.
“ Both men have confessed to the crime stating that the weeds are believed to be Indian hemp are meant for consumers in the state, mainly youths’’
“The commissioner of police Edgal Imohimi advises those dealing in illicit drugs and banned substance to have a change of heart as their quest for money is adversely affecting the wholesome development of our youths’’
The cp, therefore, warns that the command will be unrelenting in arresting a drug dealer and users in the state, state statement read!
