For whatever bad deeds anyone succeeds in doing, there must come a time for nemesis, and time for judgment, this indeed was what happened to Taiwo Gbolahan AKA Scammer who has been on the wanted list of Lagos State Police command.
The suspect is said to be a member of a gang that attacked and killed a police sergeant earlier in the year at Akala in Mushin, a Lagos suburb.
In a statement obtained from the Lagos state police public relation officer, CSP chike Oti said; during an operation to rid the area of drug lords and armed bandits yesterday arrested the kingpin.
‘’It was after we had a tip-off from a well-meaning Nigerian to the commissioner of police, imohimi Edgal saying the gangster was seen at the ghetto of Akala, that prompted the CP’ to personally directs the operative of the command led by its Commander in charge of Area ‘D’ ACP Akinbayo Olasoji to arrest the kingpin who had been terrorizing the metropolis for a while now’’
Oti said the raid carried out in the ghetto hideout led to the arrest of the said Taiwo gbolahan Aka Scammer.
‘’It was at that moment after his arrest, that the operatives searched him and found handset and numerous sim cards in his possession’’
He said an investigation into the source of the handset revealed the owner as memunat opeyemi Zebro, a female with residence at orile Iganmu.
‘’She was invited to the police station where she identified Taiwo as part of a three-man gang of armed robbers that robbed her valuables, same day at about 0517hrs’’
Narrating her ordeal, Oti said the victim ‘memunat Opeyemi Zerbo’ said Taiwo and his gangs armed with cutlass and dagger, robbed her of her handset and sim card which they configured without her authorization, transferred the sum of one hundred and seventy thousand Naira(N170,000,00) from her account.
He said the suspect did not deny committing the crime and that he is presently helping the police in its efforts to arrest other remaining members of its gangs at large.
