The Lagos state police command has unraveled a suspect with name Oyekunle Abolarin, a 45-year-old male with residence at shoyebo Omuaran along Alapere-Ketu with location within Lagos metropolis who is said to have stole a cheque owned by a private school with Name (withheld) in connivance with his in-law with name Are jerry Bankole, a native of ife-ikoyi town of ijimu in Kogi state in an attempt to siphoned money in privately owned school account.
Trouble, however, started when the privately owned proprietress of the said notable school within Lagos metropolis discovered that some attempt is being made on frequent scale on four different occasions between April and July this year to steal money from the school account , the proprietress further alleged that within that period, she received four debit transaction alerts coming with various sums of money ranging from nine hundred thousand (900,000,00), eight hundred thousand (8,00,000,00), one hundred and fifty thousand (150,000,00) and six hundred thousand (600,000,00) Naira respectively.
This, according to a statement made available to urban express news online through police public relation officer Csp chike Oti; said it was o this telling the complainant had, therefore, requested the police to unravel the person’s behind the crime.
Oti said sequel to the complaints, the commissioner of police mobilized a crack team of detectives from the state intelligent bureau led by CSP Vera Ameh to fish out the brains behind the attempt in which it’s described as felonious Act to wit stealing.
The public relation officer said after thorough and diligent investigation One Oyekunle, the school security guard was arrested.
He confessed to the stealing of four different cheque leaves belonging to the school, where he called in his brother-in-law in the person of Are jerry Bankole who connived with him the (security guard “Kunle Abolarin”) and provided a diamond bank account used in the attempt to withdraw those said amounts.
He said one of the suspects; Kunle Abolarin told the police that he regretted his action against his boss whom he claimed awarded a scholarship to his four children.
“Both suspects are currently in police custody and are helping in a further investigation”
“The Lagos state commissioner of police, imohimi Edgal is using this opportunity advising employers of labour to do a thorough profiling of their employees to avoid incidences of this nature and keep their chequebooks and ATM cards away from unauthorized persons”.
