How Nemesis Caught-up With A Thief Trying To Escape Arrest As Police picked Suspected Rapist In Lekki

One Thing is certain, for every bad deed; there is a day for nemesis. This was exactly how a suspected thief meets his Waterloo while trying to escape within Maryland metropolis.

A statement made available to urban express news online through the Public relation officer CSP Chike Oti; said the suspect with name Daniel Ekwerekwu, an indigene of Anambra was said to have hit his head on a concrete floor while attempting to scale a fence.
The statement put further that Ekwerekwu Sneaked into Okungade Street with a location at Mende in Maryland at about 6am Sunday to vandalise and steals from cars parked by the road
Oti said while committing the crime, a resident who spoke up to prepare for church sighted the suspect and raised the alarm
Policemen on routine patrol in the area went after the suspect on noticing, Ekwerekwu had to take to his heels in a bid to escape justice and meet his Waterloo, died in the process.
Nemesis, however, caught up with the said suspect after vandalizing some car body and engine parts
 “However, around 6am, one of the owners of the cars being vandalized woke up to prepare for a church service, only to see Daniel vandalizing his car.
“He raised the alarm, which attracted a police patrol team from the Anthony Police Division on neighbourhood patrol, as well as other residents. They chased the thief who ran into a building. He tried to scale the fence, but unfortunately for him, his hands slipped and he landed on a concrete floor, breaking his skull in the process.
“When the police searched his clothes, they recovered a voter card bearing his name, picture and car keys that led to the recovery of a dark blue car, with number plate, KRD 708 DK, with which he came for the operation.
“He was taken to the Mainland Hospital, Yaba, where he was confirmed dead. The body was thereafter deposited in the hospital’s morgue for autopsy.

The state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, urged Lagos communities to form vigilante groups, adding that once the groups met the requirements of the law, the command would recognise and back them with armed policemen.

Meanwhile the state command also made a leeway in smashing another gang of suspects that are specialists in using a Facebook platform to lure ladies.

  one of the suspected members, Ayo Salau was caught while his fleeing gang Richard Samuel Gbenga was said to have escaped. they were alleged to have gang-raped a lady after inviting her for a dinner.

Her Travail began when she met Samuel on facebook last month and  after several communications; she was invited over by Samuel for a dinner in lekki area.
The statement put further that Samuel picked the lady in a Toyota Camry car with Reg Numb JJJ406 DL, and was driven by Ayo Salau.


Midway into the journey, the said lady said alleged they pulled the car over and ordered her to take of her cloths; adding that they threatened to kill her and dispose of her body in the desert path in the event she put up any resistance.


Narrating how Samuel was arrested, the police public relation officer, csp chike Oti told urban express news reporter that the moment the hoodlums left, the victim raised the alarm and gave a description of their car.

''That was how Police operatives attached to maroko division swung into action immediately as they laid ambush for those suspected fleeing criminals.
As soon as the operative stopped their vehicle, the suspected criminals took to their heels as our operatives chased and arrested Ayo Salau while his Partner in crime Richard Samuel Gbenga Escaped''

 “The suspect had since been identified by the victim and he confessed to have committed the crime. He added that his fleeing partner recruited him for the job
