The owner of the ill-fated truck involved in an accident on Otedola Bridge leading to the death of some Nigerians, with more than fifty cars ravaged with fire has been arrested by the operative of the Lagos state police command.
In a statement made available through Police Public relation officer, CSP chike Oti to urban express news online said; homicide detectives from state criminal investigation and intelligence Department Panti was requested to investigate the multi-fatal truck accident that occurred some weeks back, along Lagos Ibadan expressway within otedola bridge inward Ibadan, and has successfully arrested the truck owner with name Hassan Yusuf maiwake.
The statement put further that the truck with registration number NSR 888YQ driven by a yet to be identified suspects, was laden with a petroleum product, lost control, spilling its contents and eventually went up in flame, burning more than fifty vehicles and killing about nine unidentified persons.
“Hassan maiwake who is said to be a residence of hotoro limawa within Kano metropolis was arrested yesterday in Kano, and he is helping the police in its efforts to locate the driver of the ill-fated truck”
Oti said the commissioner of police assures that the command will do all it can to help families that lost their beloved ones in the accident find succour ensuring that anyone found culpable is brought to book.
“Further developments on the issue would be communicated, Oti added.
