Police Nab Robbers That Specializes in using Bike Riders As Cover, Parades Suspected Cultists, others

 The Lagos state police command has again picked another gang of armed robbers that are specialist in using bike riders as cover to rob their victims, parades gangs of cultists with a case of child molestation.
A statement made available to urban express news-online through its public relation officer chike Oti, a superintendent of police said; a trend of this kind has been ongoing in Shasha metropolis, a Lagos suburb before luck ran against those hoodlums.

“The victim, Mr Bashiru who happened to be a commercial motorcycle rider with routes within Shasha metropolis, a logos suburb carried two passengers with both parties having an understanding of their destination at Oremeji bus-stop. But unknown to the rider, they are actually armed bandits that use bike riders as cover in carrying out their dastardly acts, brought out a hammer and struck the rider on its head.

 Immediately, the Bike  rider collapsed and they were able to dispossess him of his motorcycle with registration number WDE-459-UY”
“This was how the whole developments attracted bystanders in wanting to know what was going on. Sensing they were armed bandits, they descended on the bandits before the police moved in and saved them from being lynched, as the team of operatives that went there took them to a nearby police station”  

Oti said exhibits recovered from them include a hammer and boxer motorcycle
He said suspects involved include one Chikwo Okechukwu and Mathew Adigo and that investigation is ongoing, “adding that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

  “We equally receive information from a good Nigerian on how a man suspected to be traffic theft dispossessing pedestrians from their belongings along Alepere-Ketu traffic gridlock. Moving swiftly into the scene, operatives of Lagos police command got rid of one Okeke in possession of a toy gun with a striking semblance of berretta Pistol.

He said during the investigation, the suspect confessed that he is an ex-convict from Ghana, “adding that he is using the toy gun to intimidate and rob pedestrians of their value once he observes there is existing traffic within the said location.

In another related developments, Oti said operatives of Lagos state police command in their usual stop and search conduct during All Progressive Congress primaries in igando intercepted firearms from a group of boys carrying a bag.
“It follows after men of its command suspected that the bag being in possession of one among those group of boys trying to gain entrance into the said venue where the Congress is taking place remains questionable and decided to search it. “In that process, our operatives’ recovered one locally made pistol with sixteen (16) live cartridges.

The suspects include one Akowonjo Damilare and Odumewu Oluwatobiloba adding that all suspects would be charged to court  
Narrating how cults activities is becoming rampant and the need for parents to always take precautionary measures in ensuring that their children are under good supervision, the Lagos state commissioner of police, Mr. imohimi Edgal said state anti-robbery squad led by CSP Ahmed Sanusi moved swiftly to a location within jakande estate in lekki after a distress call.

“Those cultists was identified as Eiye Confraternity members popularly called “Birds”, operatives of the anti-robbery squad was able to arrest the suspects as they were on a mission to attack rival cult group

Suspects include Azeez Idris (28) years, Andrew Awalebi (38) years, Wale Oyekan(40) years, Uche Igbo 38years john dayo20years, Tajudeen Oluwatosin (30)years, Azeez Olayemi (21), Femi orijobi(21)years and Joseph Kolawole ‘m’ 22 years.

The statement put further that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to being members of the notorious Eiye confraternity cult group known as “Bird and that which has made life difficult for the inhabitants of Jakande Estate and Lekki area of Lagos state.

  The ringleader of the notorious Eiye cult group by name Andrew Awalebe popularly called Flying Bird had made a confessional statement to journalists that he was initiated into the group in 1990 by one Efrebor.  He was said to be a two-time Ex-convict and had at one time being charged to Ebute-Meta Magistrate Court as a result of inter-cult clashes in Ajah/Lekki areas where as a result, claims many lives. Exhibits recovered include one locally made single barrel pistol, two battle axe two daggers, one cutlass, charms and a pair of red regalia.
Suspects would be charged to court at the end of the investigation, the police public relation officers added”

On a case of Child Abuse, the Lagos state police public relation officer said it’s a case of man’s inhumanity to man” he said the victim whose name is Chinonye iyonetu eight years as against charity iyonetu, a female Nigerian of (45) years with residence in a location in seme, a settlement with proximity with border adjoining Nigeria and Benin Republic
Accordingly, Oti said the complainant alleged that the suspect is the elder sister to the said victim’s father.

Narrating how it all started, Oti said sometime in 2016, the suspect (charity iyonetu) came to their village and brought the said victim to Lagos after his mother was said to have abandoned him.
These, according to Oti were what the suspect took advantage off, and brought him to Lagos and begin to maltreat him as she accuses him of being a wizard.   

     He said the ordeal of the victim came when the suspect use horsewhip to continuously flog the child inflicting injuries all over the victim’s body. “It was discovered the suspect thereafter locked him in  one room apartment with the victim’s two hands tied behind his back and left to her shop”

  “The survivor was crying and shouting for help which made one Peter Aluku call the Police and when a team of police operatives arrived, broke the door open and rescued the child’’.

He said the suspect would be charged to the Special and Sexual Offences Court as soon as the investigation is concluded.
