Lagos Police Nab Human-Traffickers, Parade Cult Members Arrested Around Lagos Metropolis

The Agony many victims faces after human traffickers succeed in picking their victims are better to imagine than experienced. This was not the case this time with one (34) year Jude Nnakire whose residence is within Ajangbadi with a location in Shibiri, a Lagos suburb.
The said trafficker Jude Nnakire is said to have perfected plans to take his two siblings Deborah (20) and gift (17) Otim to an unknown destination before he was nabbed by men of Lagos state police command.


In a statement made Available to urban express news online through the police public relation officer,  chike Oti, a superintendent of police said; a team of police attached to ilemba hausa police Division effect the arrest of the said trafficker.

 His word: "those victims were allegedly brought to Lagos by one Emeka under the pretence of getting them a job. This he said was made possible without the consent of their parent
“The victims are right now in protective custody, while efforts are still on locating their biological parents".

“Also, the police equally received information that one (50) year old Regina ibeto with residence at Bumi Ajakaye street in the same location at ilemba shibiri in Ajangbadi, a suburb of Lagos engages young girls in child abuse activities. This, Oti said the assailant do by inducing pregnant women and when they eventually give birth, they  sell off those newly born babies”

 In reacting swiftly, Oti said the Police Divisional head in the said location led a team of police operatives to the compound where Regina was found administering an intravenous injection to one Uju Nnandi.
He said when the search was conducted; it discovered sets of Drip water bags and other related drugs.

“Upon interrogation, the public relation officer said Regina confessed that she is not a medical doctor but a traditional birth attendant” and that she induced  the said teenager, Bukky, a (17) year old who she said delivered a baby boy that was later sold to one Udoju Chukwunoye at the rate of two hundred and fifty thousand naira whose residence is said to be located at Ojo-igbede, a Lagos suburb.

“Uju was arrested, the baby retrieved and taken to the hospital while Bukky, the said mother of the child is being trailed for possible arrest, the police public relation officer added”.

“Another area of concern is how some of these traffickers disguise by using fake Non-governmental organisation (NGO) to perpetuate illegal activities relating to human trafficking at the same location of ilemba in Ajangbadi, a Lagos suburb”. Narrating how it  all happened, Oti said operatives of its command, after a tip-off, swung into action leading to interrogating one Jacob Monday, an indigene of obi local in  Benue state who was brought to Lagos under the disguise of the same fake non-governmental organisation with the pretence that it will assist him to procure a hernia operation but ended up putting him on the street of Lagos begging for Arm for the past the months.

Continuing, Oti said the unfortunate circumstance the victim found himself, is that every money realized from Arm that he was being subjected too, is given to one Paul Samuel and Jacob Ogochukuwu that are still at large. 

                                                                                                                                                                                                                     
“Our painstaking search for Paul Samuel and other associates led us arresting one Chukwuma igokwe (24) years with residence at 12 Orelope in Egbeda,, Ofiga Ayuba (18)yrs with residence in  Vendekia Village, Benue State; and Bright Edet respectively”.
“They were all identified by the victims as members of the fake NGO, claiming they are all working for Paul Samuel and Jacob Ugochukuwu whom are still at large”

He said those arrested will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded. 

Parading suspected cult members arrested around various locations in Lagos metropolis, the Lagos state commissioner of police, Imohimi Edgal said the state command will not relent as long as cult’s member refuse to turn overleaf. He said he will still not stop at talking about the important roles parent must play in their child lives. Saying close engagements and monitoring of child is on the weakening, coming from some parents and as result, escalating these vices, as he urges them to do more.


The statement put further that leveraging on credible information was what led to the arrest of those dreaded cultists. This is what led the anti-cultism unit of the command to successfully arrest thirty-nine suspected cultist within logos metropolis with locations at solomade, Oworonshoki, Ebute-meta, Ikorodu, Orile Iganmu, sangotedo, Alagbado, Ayobo and Amjeh. suspects include Kudus Ogunyemi 23yrs, Gbadamosi Abdulwasiu 27yr, Gbolagun Wasiu 25year, Bakare Ibrahim 25 yr

Exhibits recovered from them are as follows; Two locally made single barrel gun, two knives and one Axe, charms and one cartridge

“All the suspects will be charged to court afterthe investigation is concluded”.
