Shunning Cultism Act: 200 Youths In Ikorodu Renounce Membership- Lagos police

Residence of Ikorodu community may have every reason to hit their chest in support of proactive activities leading to stemming social vices that have made the inhabitants of ikorodu be on the side of peace in the way police high command has been handling the security challenges coming with the way it has made them be on the headline news for many reasons.


This was especially so after some youths in the community decided to shun cult activities. This they did renounce their membership of various cult affiliations.
In a statement made available to urban express-news online, Sp Chike Oti, the command public relation officer said the police strategic thinking for solution and frequent visit of the commissioner of police, imohimi  Edgal as part of the solution solving  approach where he sought for community partnership in crime prevention and general safety had led to two hundred youths of ikorodu that belong to different cult groups to renounce their membership of the under-world association.

“These latest renunciations bring to the number of youths who had so far dumped those evil association in Lagos state to eight hundred and sixty (860).”
The statement said; the commissioner of police, imohimi Edgal congratulates the youths for choosing the path of peace and progress and forsaking the path of death and destruction. He appreciates the youths for not only renouncing but to denounce it in its entirety and do their best to pull their friends who are still inside the evil association out of it.
“The commissioner of police thanked the traditional ruler of ikorodu land, Oba Kabiru shotobi and members of his cabinet for keying effectively into community policing strategy initiated by the inspector general of police and for their roles in convincing the youths within their domain shun cultism and embrace realities of life”.

“he further thanked Hon wasiu, a local government chairman within that jurisdiction   for agreeing to provide vocational training for youths in other for them to be fully be integrated to the society, whilst directing the area commander in charge of ikorodu to document, profile and obtain the biometrics of all repented youths and reach out to them from time to time”, the statement added
