AFRIDEV To Organise Symposia On Community Participation in Good Governance At Grassroots.

 A Non governmental organisation known as African Democratic Development initiatives (AFRIDEV) in collaboration with Gbawat Foundation has concluded plans to hold one day Public Lecture On The Role of Community Participation in Good Governance at Local Government Levels taking place in  ikorodu west local council development Area, essentially in its  town hall which is scheduled to hold on the 6th of December 2017.


The initiative is said to have its objective focus on ensuring inclusivesness of all stakeholders at the local  government levels, essentially at communities  with inclusion of  politicians, community  development Association (CDA), Commuinty Development Committee’s executive members , local government Administrators , legislators, Civil society organisations and general public  to sensitize them  on the vital roles  their communities  can play to achieve  community participation  in  good governance  at every local government levels  with the aim  to educate, promote policies and practices that will enhance community Development on every sphere  in local governance, one of its organisers has said.

The Country Director, African Democratic Development initiatives (AFRIDEV) Mr. Olusesan Olukoya said so many community inhabitants do not know their ‘’do and don’t’’ with having something to do with community participation in good governance at those grassroots levels.He added''making it happen is ensuring that all of those communities are sensitized on every of their various role in ensuring good governance at the grassroots level in every one of their respective communities''.


 Dignitaries expected at the occasion is Hon Agunbiade, majority leader at the Lagos state house of assembly who happened to be the guest speaker. Other guest includes Hon olajumoke Ademehin. Hon Agbaje wasiu olomu,  Alhaji  Nafiu olakitan and hon Rasak Oseni. The program is expected to be an eye-opener to all community dwellers in ikorodu specifically and other participants in general, the organizers had said!
